London Regent Street Bomb Threat: Police Respond to Suspicious Vehicle Investigation - اخبارك الان, اليوم الأربعاء 8 يناير 2025 08:48 مساءً

On Wednesday, January 8, several shops and buildings in Regent Street, central London, were evacuated following an alleged bomb threat. The incident prompted a significant police presence, as officers cordoned off a section of the bustling street between Conduit Street and Vigo Street, as reported by MyLondon.

A video circulating on social media platform X shows crowds of people near the police cordon, with a police vehicle stationed outside the secured area and officers visible in attendance. One office worker shared with MyLondon that they were first informed of the potential threat at approximately 1:10 p.m. and were evacuated about eight minutes later.

Westminster Police quickly responded by investigating "a suspicious vehicle" and executing "a number of controlled explosions" as a precautionary measure.

The force later confirmed in a statement that the incident had been "stood down" after it was determined the vehicle was "non-suspicious."

In a follow-up update posted on X, Westminster Police assured the public that the situation had been resolved, stating: "This incident has now been fully stood down. The vehicle was found to be non-suspicious."
